JAM SESSIONS
FOG holds weekly jam sessions at the American Legion in Penfield, NY, located at 1707 Penfield Road. Jams are typically every Friday evening at 6:30pm and wrap up between 8:30pm to 9:00pm. At jam sessions you will learn new music, practice old tunes from our current repertoire, and exchange tunes, tips, techniques, and tales.
VISITORS & ALL LEVELS OF ABILITY ARE WELCOME!
Visitors, both players and listeners, are always welcome–you do not have to be a member of FOG to participate. Bring your violin, mandolin, guitar, banjo, dulcimer, or upright bass with you and join the fun! There is a suggested donation of $3 which goes towards rental of the space.
Typically, the first and third Fridays of each month are slow jams when we play tunes from our current repertoire at slower tempos. This is a great way to improve your skills and to practice tunes you have been working on learning.
Please note that jam sessions may be canceled due to inclement weather or holidays.
